Job Description


Reporting to the SVP, the VP, Business Development (Healthcare Payer Sales) will be an integral part of the Company sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating, qualifying, and closing sales in the Healthcare Payer space. This is a hunter role responsible for selling clinical data exchange solutions that solve interoperability issues within the healthcare vertical.


  • Source and identify business opportunities within an assigned geographic territory
  • Conduct lead generation, prospecting, forecasting and other sales activities to build an optimal sales pipeline
  • Manage new accounts and sell within all levels, utilizing a consultative/solution selling approach to identify business needs, develop custom solutions and measure outcomes
  • Qualify opportunities, obtain customer commitments, negotiate and close contracts
  • Collaborate with inside sales and delivery teams to ensure products and services fully meet customer expectations
  • Manage complex sales cycles and sell to multiple levels within the payer space
  • Manage the end to end sales process including client communications, presentations, RFP submissions, client negotiations and signing the deal
  • Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to ensure client growth goals are consistently achieved
  • End to end sales process including sales forecasting, client presentations, RPF responses, RFP submissions, negotiations and closing the deal
  • Requirements:

  • 10+ years of direct sales experience in the Health/Tech space
  • 5 years of consultative sales experience selling to Healthcare Payers
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding quota achievement and selling to VP and C-level health plan leaders
  • Healthcare industry expertise in value- based contracting, HIPPA/HIM workflows, risk adjustment, quality programs or Commercial Medicare/Medicaid
  • Demonstrated ability to produce timely and accurate revenue forecasting
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to quickly translate account knowledge into sales strategy
  • Strategic, consultative thinker able focused on innovative, measurable solutions
  • Superior communication skills with small and large audiences
  • Competitive, goal oriented with the ability to think strategically and operate in a scaling business
  • Enthusiastic, team oriented with a strong ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills with a keen ability to demo software products
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field of study
