About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President of Value Advisory and Strategic Innovation to lead and scale our global value engineering team. This executive will shape industry thought leadership, drive high-impact executive engagements, and develop scalable frameworks to enhance value advisory through AI, automation, and advanced analytics. Additionally, they will work closely with R&D to integrate value-based selling and solution advisory tools directly into Coupa’s platform, ensuring a data-driven, strategic approach to customer success.

What will you do:
  • Thought Leadership & Market Insights: Develop and present data-driven insights, industry reports, and presentations that reinforce Coupa’s position as a leader in Total Spend Management.
  • Sales Alignment & Execution: Lead the creation of business cases, ROI models, and actionable insights to support enterprise decision-making. Collaborate with Sales and Presales teams to drive value-based selling and ensure alignment with deal strategies.
  • Solution & Value Advisory Excellence: Champion solution and value-based selling by incorporating advanced analytics and industry insights into presales engagements.
  • Strategic Initiative Leadership: Lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts and data scientists to execute key strategic projects and deliver shared services for customer engagements.
  • Automation & AI Tools Development: Design and implement AI-powered tools to automate presales processes, enhancing efficiency and scalability for solution and value advisors.
  • Product-Embedded Value Selling: Partner with R&D to embed value-selling and solution-selling capabilities directly into Coupa’s product offerings.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of Value Engineers and Data Scientists.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and R&D teams to align data-driven strategies with business goals and go-to-market initiatives.


What you will bring to Coupa:
  • 10+ years of experience in presales strategy, value selling, data science, analytics, or consulting leadership, ideally within enterprise SaaS.
  • Proven ability to lead a high-performing team and drive measurable business impact.
  • Expertise in AI, big data, and automation, with a strong track record of developing innovative value engineering frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong executive presence with experience influencing C-suite stakeholders.
  • Expertise in business spend management, procurement, or finance technology preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
