Major Responsibilities:

Provides executive leadership for the enterprise design, governance, and prioritization of cancer clinical programs across the Cancer National Service Line, ensuring programs are built once, standardized, scalable, and executed consistently across all Divisions. 

Translates enterprise cancer strategy into actionable program models, operating standards, and performance metrics that align to Cancer NSL priorities and Advocate Health strategic imperatives, and provides enterprise-level administrative leadership, financial oversight, and performance management for assigned cancer programs, including budget development, resource optimization, and return-on-investment evaluation. 

Leads enterprise cancer patient navigation, supportive oncology, survivorship, and integrative care strategy, ensuring consistent program design, scope, and patient experience across markets, while effectively partnering with Division and clinical leaders for local execution. 

Provides enterprise oversight and strategic coordination for cancer patient experience programs, including the evolution of patient and family advisory approaches to a consistent enterprise Loved One experience standard. 

Leads enterprise cancer outreach strategy, aligning engagement, screening, access initiatives, and brand presence to Cancer NSL growth, equity, and access goals, and ensuring coordination across Divisions. 

Directs the design and scaling of enterprise virtual and digital cancer care programs to expand access, improve patient experience, and support new care delivery models across the cancer continuum. 

Serves as the enterprise liaison for innovation initiatives and new ventures, partnering to advance novel oncology care models, technology-enabled solutions, and strategic partnerships across the enterprise. 

Partners with enterprise and Division leaders to define and implement cancer-specific service standards in areas such as nutrition, supportive services, and allied health functions, ensuring consistency in patient care expectations regardless of local reporting structures. 

Builds, leads, and develops high-performing enterprise teams, ensuring strong talent management, succession planning, performance management, and leadership development aligned with enterprise values and strategic goals. 

Represents the Cancer National Service Line in enterprise initiatives, internal governance forums, and external partnerships related to cancer clinical programs, innovation, and population-based strategies. 

 

Designs and directs the work of the assigned area(s) of responsibility. Selects, coaches, and develops teams, setting objectives that align with organizational strategy to inspire and motivate the teams. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved. 

Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives. 

Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business. 

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

None Required.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or similar field required. 

Experience Required:

Typically requires at least 10 years of progressive healthcare experience, with at least 5 years in management roles overseeing complex oncology programs, service line strategy, or enterprise clinical operations. Demonstrated experience leading multi-market, matrixed organizations and scaling programs across large health systems is required. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Demonstrated executive-level leadership capability with a strong ability to operate in a highly matrixed, enterprise environment. 

Deep understanding of cancer care delivery across the continuum, including supportive oncology, survivorship, navigation, virtual care, screening, and community outreach. 

Proven ability to design, govern, and scale programs across multiple markets while enabling local execution. 

Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and operational judgment, with the ability to balance enterprise standardization and local flexibility. 

Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and influence skills to align diverse stakeholders, including physicians, administrators, and enterprise partners. 

Demonstrated change leadership expertise, including driving cultural adoption of enterprise models and new ways of working. 

Ability to translate strategy into executable models, performance metrics, and outcomes that improve quality, experience, access, and value. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. Exposed to a normal office environment with occasional travel across the enterprise. 

Preferred Job Requirements

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred. 

Preferred Experience:

Experience leading cancer clinical programs across broad geographic footprints within large, integrated health systems strongly preferred.
