Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic VP, Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. Reporting to the CFO, this role is a key part of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing global accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate has deep SaaS experience, strong leadership skills, and a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
Note: This is a remote position, preferably based in the San Francisco Bay Area for occasional in-office meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting Close: Ensure a timely, efficient, and accurate close process and own the review of the monthly and quarterly consolidated results. Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, international accounting, and accounts payable.
- Revenue Recognition: Oversee revenue recognition and order to cash and drive the optimization of revenue systems to support Iterable’s growth.
- Financial Reporting: Provide oversight of all financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Tax Compliance: Support US and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning.
- Treasury Management: Oversee all treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and investment activities. Manage bank accounts, credit facilities, and other banking-related activities.
- Payroll Management: Supervise global payroll, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation. Oversee payroll compliance, including tax filings and reporting for all jurisdictions.
- Financial Audits: Lead the annual financial statement audit and relationships with external auditors.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain a strong internal controls environment and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Finance Optimization: Evaluate and improve accounting processes, financial systems, and policies to support scaling operations. Oversee system implementations and enhancements, including ERP and financial planning tools.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with FP&A to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Partnership: Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on accounting strategy, risk management, and investor relations.
- Leadership and Development: Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA with experience from a Big 4 accounting firm and extensive corporate accounting experience, ideally within SaaS
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP (ASC 205, ASC 606, ASC 718), and SaaS business models
- Familiarity with with ERP, Billing, Procurement, and Financial Close Tools
- IPO/public company experience preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The US base salary range for this position at the start of employment is $212,000 - $310,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by specific US work location, as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations.

The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable), equity, plus a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and financial.
