Job Description

The Vice President of Sales provides leadership, direction, and resource stewardship to the organization's sales function. As the organization's senior-most sales leader, the VP Sales is accountable for overall sales organization performance, the profitable achievement of sales organization goals, and for aligning sales objectives with firm business strategy. The VP Sales reports to the General Manager, Tax & Accounting Professionals, Large Firms.

Remote Position: Position location at a TR Hub site: Dallas, TX or Minneapolis, MN or Ann Arbor, MI or near Major Hub for significant travel

Responsibilities:

  • This position will provide strategic and operational leadership to all types of field sales roles in TAP Large Firms to aggressively meet sales, revenue, retention, and organizational objectives
  • Leads creation and execution of strategy to maximize current and future growth of products and solutions
  • Designs and develops strategies to increase market share and grow short- and long-term business outcomes
  • Leads sales management teams who are accountable for nurturing and growing existing client relationships across the region for ~ 1,300 large firm customers
  • Drives sales talent strategy, including attracting and developing a high performing, engaged workforce of world-class talent
  • Meets or exceeds customer-focused and experience metrics such as NPS, retention, upsell and cross-sell
  • Ensures team is operating in an agile manner focused around putting the customer first
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Leads sales organization change initiatives by continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change
  • Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospects.

  • Proven Track Record: A successful work history in meeting sales goals and commitments

  • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity; decisive especially when not all data is readily available
  • Comprehensive business and managerial knowledge of accounting and audit practices.
  • College Degree desired
  • 15+ years of experience, with specifically 4-6 years of experience in direct sales leadership at a high level
  • Preferred experience in selling software solutions to tax departments
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes
  • An outside-in focus: outstanding end-customer relationship skills
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with multiple successful strategic projects
