Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the ream of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Veterans Benefit Association (VBA) program is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join their team.

This is a remote position within the US but it is preferrable for the candidate to be in the Southeastern U.S.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Update web applications and databases in an integrated, continuous release environment.
  • Develop new web database applications collaboratively with agile team.
  • Communicate effectively with agile team on progress, workflow, and solutions.
  • Develop solution design concepts and estimates for work assigned.
  • Conducts analysis and provides recommendations to the agile team regarding system lifecycle, to include enhancements, maintenance, and sunset recommendations.
  • Conducts quality control on personal work products and agile team products.
  • Develop or revise technical and procedural documentation for agile team products.
  • Perform help desk activities on existing agile team applications.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 6+ years of experience with software and database development
  • Strong database architecture skills using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL queries
  • Microsoft DevOps and Visual Studio
  • Agile processes, primarily Scrum or Kanban
  • Coding proficiency in at least four of the following:
    • JavaScript
    • jQuery
    • C Sharp (C#)
    • Visual Basic
    • ASP.NET Core and/or ASP.NET MVC
    • Web API
    • HTML 5
  • ship; must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI check
