Consumer User Test Specialist



Want to be part of an exciting new launch of a consumer product?

Are you good with people, able to trouble shoot technology products and document issues and errors as they arise?

Then you might be a good fit for an exciting opportunity to join our client as a Consumer User Test Specialist Coordinator.

This is a contract to hire position that is starting as remote position (using Zoom) but will eventually move onsite to this client's facility in Bedford MA.

(Hourly rate: 20-30/hr- DOE)
Essential functions include:

  • User Liaison during in home user trials, involving up to hundreds of users
  • Recruit users suitable for home testing via email, surveys, etc.
  • Primary point of contact for all users
  • Organize and execute user orientation
  • Answer users" questions about product, accessories, and/or mobile app operations
  • Track user test logistical information such as product configuration, software version, etc.
  • Help users debug common issues and escalate more complex issues to program team in timely manner
  • Analyze and summarize valuable user feedback from user surveys and home testing journals
  • Cross reference user feedback with product data logs
  • Engage user as required to further clarify the feedback
  • Synthesize user feedback and product data logs into issues, ideas and customer preference trends
  • Verify product configuration prior to start of test.
  • Verify products meet proper hardware and software configuration by executing a few tests on the units before they are sent home to testers.

The individual in this role will work as part of the User Test Team within Systems Engineering and will work closely with Chief Engineers, Program Managers, Product Managers, as well as Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Test Engineering and User Experience leads. The successful candidate will have experience or capability to quickly learn all aspe cts of user-facing testing.

Job Requirements:

Skills Required:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role


Direct experience interacting with customers and resolving issues and troubleshooting electronic systems

Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word

Experience with iOS and/or Android mobile apps

Advanced Excel and data analysis skill are strongly desired as well as experience with ticketing systems like Jira.
