This position is a remote/work from home role. You will need to reside within the Western, Central or Eastern Time Zones, and be able to work overlapping times with the teams in Irvine, CA and Atlanta, GA.
Cox Automotive is looking for an experienced, passionate and hands-on User Experience Manger to join our team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will manage a team of UX Designers tasked with creating outstanding personalized experiences for the Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book brands. In addition, you will team up with colleagues from Product Management and Engineering to guide product discovery and design efforts for an agile release train.

You must have solid experience managing UX designers in growing user-centered design techniques, using data to drive design outcomes, and prioritizing work to support multiple Scrum teams. Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead UX designers to create innovative, re-usable design solutions that thrill consumers while delivering measurable business value
  • Facilitate design workshops with stakeholders using design thinking techniques to explore user needs and design concepts from multiple perspectives
  • Partner with user research and analytics to identify improvements and evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions implemented
  • Engage in enterprise thinking across product lines and services to identify new product ideas
  • Work with the Senior Manager of User Experience to prioritize work, leveraging a strong understanding of the business while advocating for users throughout the product lifecycle
  • Promote close collaboration between UX team members and Products, Engineering and other teams to produce high-quality design deliverables and ensure designs are delivered as specified
  • Leverage and extend our design system to promote brand consistency and re-use of functional components across our websites
  • Present design work to peers and business leaders to gain consensus
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and help set goals with the team to foster and encourage career growth
Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of hands-on design experience creating wireframes, high resolution mocks, prototypes and related design documentation for consumer-facing web and mobile experiences
  • 5+ years of experience successfully partnering with development teams in an agile environment
  • 2+ years of experience directly managing UX resources to deliver with quality against aggressive deadlines
  • A portfolio of past work that demonstrates the effectiveness of your design solutions in meeting user needs while achieving business results
  • Knowledge of current UX design strategies and trends across web and mobile platforms
  • Experience in iterative software delivery methodologies like Agile and Scrum
  • Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Passion and experience working with engineering and product teams
  • Independent self-starter with excellent leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and follow-through on completion of tasks
  • Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work on concurrent projects and quickly prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities
  • Proficiency with leading design tools, including Figma, Sketch and Invision
  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent work experience required; Masters degree a plus
