As U.S. Service Animals ( ) talent partner, we have been retained to identify two full stack developers for their growing team. These roles are full time, direct hire and based remotely, sitting anywhere in the United States. Our sole focus is identifying skilled, ambitious developers who want to meaningfully grow their skills and the organization.

Job Description

USServiceAnimals.org is seeking a Senior Level Full Stack Developer with strong, proven experience in e-commerce software application and deployment. As a lead programmer, you will be responsible to develop quality, bug free software on a timely basis. You will be required to ensure that multiple systems integrate seamlessly and perform at a high level.


  • Develop and enhance the Internet facing company sites while maintaining a holistic understanding the company's core applications and technologies
  • Develop efficient web services and APIs
  • Take ideas and concepts from the business and turn them into tangible components of the site
  • Execute development tasks and release schedules via Trello
  • Entertain team members with jokes, dances, or other skills

Required Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of PHP, Javascript, CSS, AJAX
  • Strong MVC skills
  • Working knowledge of the Yii2 framework (Main project is built from the ground-up in yii2)
  • Working knowledge of the Laravel framework (New project development is done in laravel)
  • Working knowledge of MySQL DB management and optimization
  • Extensive use of Javascript with jQuery
  • Extensive use of CSS with SASS, utilizing Bootstrap (currently 3.4.1)
  • PayPal & custom payment gateway API integrations
  • Package management with Composer, Yarn/NPM
  • Asset management with Gulp, Node, Webpack
  • Amazon AWS experience, specifically S3, EC2, RDS, SES
  • Cloudflare experience
  • Extensive use of Redis, including redis-backend job queues (project utilizes yii2-queue)
  • Working knowledge of SOAP interfaces
  • Knowledge of Call Center fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of web application security and performance tuning
  • Working knowledge of web application design patterns and best practices
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to efficiently learn and adapt to a relatively large code base

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience as a developer in a high traffic web environment
  • Experience managing multiple code bases
  • Computer Science or related technical degree strongly preferred
  • You must be cool in some way. Maybe not rock star cool, but at least geek cool.
