Title: Part-Time codeSpark Academy Tutor (Contractor)
codeSpark is looking for part-time coding instructors to teach coding classes using codeSpark Academy. codeSpark is part of the HOMER program, teaching kids 6-10 skills for the 21st century like critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative learning through coding.
This is a remote contractor position with all classes taught virtually over Zoom. Each class typically meets twice a week and is approximately 1 hour long. The schedule of classes is generally flexible and determined by you (codeSpark will offer schedule options for you to select). There are 5-10 students per class.
The primary role of a codeSpark Academy tutor is to deliver the content in an engaging way and ultimately be responsible for student retention and parent satisfaction.

How much is my compensation?
You will be paid $25-35 per session, based on experience with potential incentives based on student retention and parent satisfaction. You will be compensated for your time to join an introduction session to get started.
As a contractor, you will receive Form 1099 if you receive greater than $600 in payment in a calendar year. You will not receive a Form 1099 if you make less than $600 in payments and as an independent contractor, you will be responsible for proper tax reporting of the payments received.
When will I be teaching?
Available class times range from 7am 9:30pm ET. However, the highest availability of classes is between 5:30pm 9:30pm ET Monday Friday and 10am 6pm ET on Saturdays and Sundays. You will be able to choose the class based on your own availability and create your own schedule.
How many classes will I be teaching?
Initially, new instructors start with 2-3 classes per week, and you will have the potential of increasing your schedule between 10 to 20 sessions per week depending on class availability, how well students enjoy your classes and your schedule.
How long will I need to teach?
Each of our courses is 4-8 weeks in duration. When you accept a new class you are agreeing to teach for the full duration of that course and commit to the schedule you chose to teach.
