The TMS Business Analyst's role is to act as the liaison between the business and IT. In this position, the TMS Business Analyst will work closely across all departments to implement, and act as ongoing continuous improvement support for, the new transportation management software. This person will be hands-on and require skills in identifying, analyzing and implementing existing and newly proposed business processes.

This BA role has three major categories of responsibilities:
Business process analysis and improvement
System setup, configuration and production support
Documentation and testing of new features and functionality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business process analysis and improvement
o Gather business requirements through workshops, meetings, and interviews
o Document current and future system use cases and business flows
o Creates technical requirements necessary to implement proposed solutions
Translates user needs into system requirements, engaging other business functions as needed
System setup, configuration and production support
Act as a subject matter expert for the setup and configuration of TMS.
Provide support for connecting to external parties via EDI
Provide ongoing support of TMS updates and new functionality.
Training/mentoring of end users on system best practices
Provide end-user Operations support for internal and external users
Capable of training others on specific areas of business processes or systems
Supporting the documentation and testing of new features and functionality
Assist with the development of system documentation, training materials, communication materials, demos, etc., in preparation for a global deployment
Assist in writing test cases and participating in SIT and UAT activities
Help to Identify and resolve data quality issues, assisting with the data management process between host systems and TMS.

Qualifications

To perform essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
Business process analysis and improvement
o Experience in business analysis. Ability to translate stakeholder requests into well-defined, documented use cases / requirements and review with stakeholders
o Solid knowledge of the application development / configuration process.
Prior experience within transportation, logistics or supply chain
Ability to understand technical designs, specification and work to resolve changes that impact stakeholders
Experience working with EDI transaction sets for transportation carriers
Experience implementing a TMS globally
Ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation
Training/mentoring of IT/Operations Users
o Strong communications skills (verbal, written, and listening)
o Ability to clearly convey ideas and concepts verbally, in writing, and via presentations
Supporting the documentation and testing of new features and functionality
o Ability to handle multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines through effective time management skills
o Sense of urgency with strong follow-up skills
o Must be detail-oriented and able to work within a team setting
o Proficient at problem solving and analytical techniques
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders
o Ability to work with integrity and build trust
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant work experience in systems or business
3 years of transportation, logistics or supply chain
3 years of experience working with Blue Yonder transportation systems management or implementations
Experience in a support role within Supply Chain
Experience working with EDI transactions
Experience in business process redesign
Experience in system design, testing, validation, problem resolution, and training
