BCBSNE is happy to offer four remote, office, and hybrid options for Omaha area employees. If choosing to work remote, this role can be located in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, and Texas.

As a Technical Vendor Oversight Manager, you will partner with Technical Leadership, Enterprise Architects, and Asset Management Teams to facilitate the management of the external vendor relationship for contracted/owned software. Partners with the Vendor Services team on RFP's, contract creation, SLAs, renewals, negotiations, and contract changes. Responsibilities include the lifecycle vendor relationship process, including onboarding, day-to-day management, planning, external audits, communications, and renewal.

What you'll do:

Provides strategic analysis to ensure alignment to full vendor lifecycle processes and goals by collaborating with internal partners and external vendors. Utilizes deep market knowledge of technical vendors as applicable.

Lead the collection and analysis of current vendor data and utilization for financial review, performance measurement, creation of SLAs, and monitoring of performance and coordinating internal and external services. Provide assistance with continuously monitoring to ensure vendor tool optimization to meet long-term business needs.

Facilitate and communicate all vendor lifecycle updates to technical Leadership and Enterprise Architects. Will be accountable for specific vendor spend at the various department levels. Will utilize strong ability to communicate with technical users, legal, and procurement staff and business leaders to assist the vendor team in creating contracts that align complex needs with contractual requirements to achieve business outcomes.

Lead the discovery and research of new vendors/technologies and partner with vendor management/asset management teams, legal counsel, and business/technical owners on vendor selection.

Create and manage vendor scorecards and associated ratings on a routine basis. Develop and monitor action and corrective plans for standards not being met by incumbent vendor partners.

Understand each vendor's services and how the vendor supports the technical needs in value and impact. Be knowledgeable of general agreement terms, structure, pricing, and renewal schedule.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, computer science, information technology, or engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years procurement, software management, vendor, or other related experience.
  • Experience collecting & analyzing data
  • Aptitude in decision-making
  • Previous experience managing cross-functional and vendor relations for maximum cost effectiveness.
  • Previous experience using technology and tools effectively in managing the contract life-cycle.
