Our client, a local government located in Central Maine, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer. This Direct Hire role will be responsible for generating, installing, writing, revising, and maintaining operating, networking, and related systems software for servers and computers. REPRESENTATIVE TASKS Infrastructure Security Analyst. Maintain cyber security infrastructure. Generates and installs vendor system software products and components in production servers and networking computers to meet data processing requirements. Maintains and updates major operating and networking systems to ensure interface of operational functions and application systems, and to identify and correct software problems. Isolates, performs quality assurance testing on, and corrects system software problems to recover full production status and prevent future failures and malfunctions. Manages and optimizes servers and networking systems performance and capacity planning efforts to ensure system resources meet user demand. Prepares materials, documentation and instructs data processing personnel in procedures and methods of computer software and hardware utilization to ensure maintenance of standards and to develop staff. KNOWLEDGES. SKILLS. AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (These are required to successfully perform the work assigned). Knowledge of the principal functions of high-level operating and networking systems and related software components. Knowledge of detailed operation of the servers and peripheral hardware equipment components as they pertain to and interface with operating and networking system software and application systems. Knowledge of performance measurement and capacity planning techniques for server and networking computers and related equipment. Knowledge of computerized file organization and access techniques. Knowledge of state-of-the-art computer hardware and software technology. Ability to generate, install and maintain computer operating and networking systems. Ability to research and evaluate the suitability of computer software and hardware products for a given use. Ability to adapt, enhance or modify computer operating and networking system components. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to develop technical standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, skills, andor abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following courseworktraining andor experience). Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL, operating systems, Cisco switches and Firewalls, Mite), VOIP Phone Systems. LICENSINGREGISTRATIONCERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MCSAMCSE, CCNA, etc desired but not mandatory.
