Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, screening and recommending candidates for Absorption Systems positions. He or she will identify opportunities to build applicant pools, establish partnerships with management, identify qualified candidates through effective interviewing, and successfully administer the recruitment life cycle primarily. Developing and executing recruitment plans are primary responsibilities to ensure hiring goals are met with the best possible talent. All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity law and applicable employment laws. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will focus on our West Coast operations in San Diego, CA. The position can be hybrid or remote.


  • Consult with leaders, hiring managers and human resources team on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation and sourcing strategies. Responsible for position description maintenance and requisition creation. Determine selection criteria for candidates by liaising with managers and other members of staff.
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks. Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Continuously develop networks and partnerships to actively build strong pipeline of candidates. Organize and attend college career fairs and recruitment events.
  • Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume & phone screens, coordinate candidate interviews, and close qualified candidates.
  • Arrange pre-employment background & reference screenings.
  • Maintain detailed notes of candidate progress in applicant tracking system. Keep records of all materials used for recruitment, including interview notes and related paperwork.
  • Assist management with the creation of interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
  • Place and update all job postings in various Medias including internet sites, colleges, social networks, community boards and staffing partners.
  • Create offer letters, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as needed. Assist with Affirmative Action reporting and process.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences discipline, Human Resources Management, or similar.
  • 2-5 years of experience in talent acquisition.
  • Experience with social media and professional networks.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and staying current with industry trends.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and applicant tracking systems.
  • HR Certification would be advantageous.
  • Life Sciences experience preferred.

Position is remote or hybrid and will primarily be dedicated to our West Coast operations in San Diego, CA. Due to the time difference, West Coast applicants are preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates not located on the west coast.
