Support Engineer

Now we’re looking for a Support Engineer to join our team in Pakistan and chase the answers, seek the code and chase the dream with us.

Essence of the role:

The Support Engineer will be part of the Sinch Support team, which is a worldwide leader in delivery of Messaging solutions. This role reports to Manager Support AMEA & APAC at Sinch. The workplace will be in Pakistan, working remotely but may need to travel occasionally depending on business requirements.

Responsibility includes:

  • Providing technical assistance, trouble shooting, writing incident reports and handling communication around support cases.
  • Resolving support cases from customers all over the world.
  • Partly work with the managed services team, perform preventive maintenance of customer installations and software installations/upgrades at customers.

This role includes that you take part on a rotating on-call schedule for our 24/7 emergency support. Normal working hours are weekdays, but you might be required to work on some weekends on rotating weekend shifts if customers requirement demand so.

To excel in the role, it is important that the candidates have a business mind and see the benefits of business for both the company and its customers.

In order to be successful in this role, you have:

  • Bachelors (Science or IT) university degree
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience from technical roles within the telecom and/or IT industry
  • Fluency in English

Experience and knowledge within some or all of the following areas:

  • Unix/Linux based systems
  • OCS/Prepaid Systems or VAS systems (such as SMSC, MMSC, USSD, WAP GW, IVR, Voice Mail, Collect Call etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge in Oracle DB (Mandatory)
  • IP networks, Diameter, Sigtran/SS7
  • Knowledge virtualization technologies such as VMware or similar
  • PCRF knowledge is a plus
  • XML knowledge is a plus
