This is an excellent career opportunity for a professional with an impressive architectural design background and excellent interpersonal skills.What will you do?Ensure success in designing, building, optimizing, and deploying high-volume, cloud-based solutions to support customer needsEvaluate design proposals and conduct proof-of-values where requiredParticipate in deep architectural discussions for new and existing solutions to identify areas for improvement; Evaluate design proposals and conduct proof-of-values where requiredBuild relationships with senior technical individuals and thought leaders across the enterpriseParticipate in design and code reviews of artifacts from teamsProvide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to our development teams at each phase of the software development life cycleDefine and manage design and coding standards to be used in software development and deliveryEvaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platformDrive process improvements and assist in changes to team best practices; Mentor team members in software architecture and designHow will you get there?EDUCATIONBS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experienceREQUIRED EXPERIENCESuccessful software development experience working in a corporate environment10+ years of progressive experience with programming and design of commercial software or enterprise systems5+ years of hands-on experience implementing distributed, cloud-based architecturesExtensive understanding of architectural styles and design patternsExperience with continuous integration and deliveryExperience with containerization and container orchestration with technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Container RegistriesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience building and managing relationships across a large enterpriseAbility to influence decision making from top-down and bottom-upPREFERRED EXPERIENCEExperience with Agile development practices such as Scrum and related tools such as Atlassian Jira or Microsoft Azure DevOpsStrong working knowledge of Linux, AWS, and languages such as Java, .Net, Golang, PythonScientific, BioTech, or Pharmaceutical experienceUnderstanding of infrastructure automation through DevOps continuous integration & delivery and Infrastructure as CodeKnowledge of cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategiesExperience with distributed service management using Service Mesh, API Gateway and like modelsExperience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologyOur global team of more than 75,000 colleagues delivers an unrivaled combination of innovative technologies, purchasing convenience and pharmaceutical services through our industry-leading brands, including Thermo Scientific, Applied Biosystems, Invitrogen, Fisher Scientific, Unity Lab Services and Patheon.
