Job Description


Remote - U.S.


The Staff Accountant reviews, prepares, reconciles and analyzes accounting records, documentation and financial reports by applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This position is responsible for coordinating and performing assigned month-end close responsibilities, monthly account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, coordination of audit requests & preparing audit schedules, and booking daily transaction activity as needed. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and have a good understanding of GAAP accounting to ensure compliance and accuracy of all financial activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and own assigned month-end reconciliations and analyses for assigned accounts, while documenting and maintaining appropriate support.
  • Communication with members of management and department heads regarding expense analysis and specialized reports.
  • Ensures completion of month-end responsibilities including:
  • Fulfill monthly close-related tasks, including journal entries and analytical review.
  • Strong understanding of assigned processes and journal entries.
  • Prepares monthly departmental reports.
  • Researches and provides conclusion on accounting issues.
  • Assists with all inventory postings.
  • Assists in overall month-end closing and financial review.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis including documentation of variance explanations.
  • Create and upload journal entries. Appropriately document and support all transactions.
  • Performs the daily cash postings as needed.
  • Develop, maintain and improve processes to drive efficient work and ensure integrity of the financial statements.
  • Assists with internal and external audit requests.
  • Be an active and positive team member of the accounting department providing excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
  • 1 years' work experience or equivalent internships preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of people in a professional manner.
  • Strong computer skills to include advanced use of Excel and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with clients, peers, other departments, and senior management.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, motivated self- starter
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to successful conclusion.
  • Ability to use logical methods to address problems and develop effective solutions.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

This position is in a typical office environment that requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. This position requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard phone, fax machine, and copier.
