BD Lifesciences develops research-only and IVD products, applicable experience within a regulated environment will be valuable in this position. BD uses Agile and SAFe processes for product development.

In this role the Project Manager will support Program Managers in oversite of complex programs. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in development of complex instrumentation, hardware and software projects, can lead teams through phase gate reviews and has strong risk management skills.

Job responsibilities:

* Lead a cross-functional team ensuring execution of all hardware program work (including documentation) to ensure continuous supply of our flagship clinical instrument from a hardware perspective

* Support the Program Managers (Core Team Leads) in managing risks (schedule, budget, and technical performance) through contingency planning.

* Ensures hardware requirements are in place and creates well thought out project plans

* Coordinate with suppliers to ensure that boards fabrication meets the project needs in both performance, quality and timeline

* Works together with Manufacturing to optimize management of inventory of boards and components

* Organize core team meetings, maintain agenda, track open items and publish meeting minutes.

* Participate in Scrum meetings to identify and call out risks where needed.

* Proactively review processes and recommend changes and improvements while applying program management best practices

* Ensure compliance to the company's product life cycle and design control requirements.

* Work in close collaboration with the Program Managers and Quality Assurance to develop, maintain and control the Design History Files.

* Work with project team members at local and remote sites to coordinate filing of all essential project documentation.

* Keep key partners informed on the status of work completion relative to scheduled deadlines.

* Keeps abreast of requirements for compliance for each project and leads team to maintain compliance.

* Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management when necessary.

* Helps coordinate & implement SAFe and Agile planning activities

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in a technical or science related field - manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering preferred.

* Familiarity with basic PCB design and fabrication processes.

* Laboratory instrument, or capital equipment development experience.

* Preferred knowledge and experience: include SW/FW/HW integrated project management for commercial products

* Strong, proven knowledge in product development and design control

* Minimum of 3-years experience in a new product development or manufacturing environment

* 1-2 years cross-functional project management experience preferred

* Familiar with structured phase-gate product development and portfolio management processes

* Demonstrated impact of implementing process improvement projects

* Demonstrated experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Demonstrated results-oriented capabilities as contributor and team leader

* Able to travel up 15% (deomestic and potentially international)

Preferred Candidate:

* Experience working in an FDA regulated environment

* Experience in the development of analytical instruments or similar complexity products

* Knowledge of Agile and SAFe processes is a plus

* Familiarity with SAP

* PMP certificate
