Summary This is a Remote position, which requires some occasional travel to office (located in Littleton, CO) or other customer sites. We have a current opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer. In this role you will be part of a software development team to design and implement new systems and features, as well as modify and maintain existing systems for adaptation to business and/or technology changes. The senior software engineer engages with management, development teams, technical delivery teams, and customers to ensure the successful design, development, and delivery of technology-based solutions, with a focus on digital engineering processes and procedures, space digital design and development experience or analysis for space applications. The applicant will be expected to provide full life cycle (requirements, design, develop, and test) software engineering for space and test systems and assist with developing and maintaining build processes for these systems. The applicant will be expected to fulfill a leadership position in guiding, instructing, and mentoring other junior engineers in best practices, policies and procedures, coding standards, and task management. Candidate will support Redwire's modular architecture approach, must be proficient in C/C++, and possess a clear understanding of software principles and object-oriented analysis, design, and development. U.S. Citizenship is required. Responsibilities Developing software applications based on customer requirements Serving as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams. Providing on-site operational support, implementation guidance and special test activities. Overseeing the development of product and user documentation. Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle which includes software requirements, design, development, integration, test, and maintenance Assisting in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing. Communicating key project data to team members and management Applying best practices and standard operating procedures. Creating innovative solutions to meet our company's technical needs. Developing and executing software test and correcting software bugs. Mentoring junior developers through advice, coaching, and occasional training opportunities Ideal Experience Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering, science, software engineering, or other related field Experience with multiple programming languages, including C, C++, and Python Experience with Git or similar version control tools Previous experience with software development and software test principles Must be U.S. Citizen Limited travel required Desired Skills Preferred 5+ years of experience in software engineering, software development, or a related field Experience working with Flight Hardware and developing Flight Software Experience building software on embedded targets Familiarity with Linux-base open-source development programs Familiarity with the aerospace industry Familiarity with Agile Processes Experience working with real time operating systems Experience with software architecture Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties Capable of maintaining a clear focus in a dynamic, real-time environment Must be results-oriented, with the ability to change priorities as needed Self-motivated; performs tasks with minimal oversight Experience in a multi-discipline environment Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to professionally communicate and coordinate with a wide range of external program sponsors as well as internal management Sound time management skills, attention to detail, and priority management to meet deadlines Ability to attain a security clearance Grow with us as we innovate the next generation capabilities for a new era of space exploration! Pay Range $95K-$135K How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy) Redwire Space determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
