Your work will have real-world impact, and you'll be supported in achieving your career goals.How will you make an impact?The Sr Sales Operations Analyst will be a member of the sales operations team and will spend roughly half their time automating existing Excel based reporting and developing new commercial reporting in SQL/Microsoft Power BI with the other half spent on other Sales Operations functions - primarily supporting our forecast process, supporting our S process, and providing support to our commercial team on our SFDC CRM system. This role operates as a key business partner to the Global Sales, Finance, and Product Marketing organizations and will be exposed to and develop familiarity with a wide range of business processes making this a good opportunity for a data scientist looking to expand their involvement into broader business processes.What will you do?Lead the effort from the ground up to get the Sales Operations team equipped with a functioning setup for to develop and publish dashboards and reports utilizing Microsoft Power BI and SQL.Develop and maintain applications in Microsoft Power BI utilizing SQL server to replace existing Excel based reporting, some of which is elaborate including Visual Basic code.Partner with the rest of the Sales Operations team and the Commercial team to understand highest priority reporting needs and develop new reports in Microsoft Power BI and SQL to address these needs.Provide training to stakeholders on how to access and use reports.Monitor usage and follow up with managers not using the reporting to provide further training and/or make adjustments to reporting to better fit the need.Provide training to Sales Operations teammates on Power BI and SQL.Share responsibility with Sales Operations team to support the commercial team and other stakeholders with our SFDC CRM system by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and providing training as needed.Support Lead CRM Business Analyst to perform user acceptance testing on occasion.Serve as a point of contact for the sales organization to field questions and problem solve situations when necessary.Act as primary backup to Sales Operation ManagerSupport forecasting and S processes directly by preparing data for review, participating in review meetings, and leading review meetings periodically.Support other sales operations functions which may include commissions, pricing, and providing support on sales operations processes to the global sales team and Product Marketing team.Special projects and ad hoc requests as neededHow will you get here?EducationBachelor's Degree from an accredited higher learning institution required (preferred area of study: Data Science, Business, Computer Science, or Statistics)ExperienceMinimum 3 years proficient working experience with Microsoft Power BI, including setting up new implementations, developing new reports and managing user access, requiredMinimum 3 years proficient working experience with setting up, developing and managing SQL databases, requiredExperience and proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, graphing, complex formulas, and Visual Basic macrosExperience working with large amounts of dataKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesFamiliarity and experience with SFDC or another CRM system is a plusAbility to work successfully in a complex multi-national environmentExcellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of subject matter experts, managers, and executivesExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impactBasic project management skillsMust be results driven with an excellent attention to detailTrack record of developing meaningful relationships at all levels within an organization - at both the business unit and divisional level and can operate effectively in a matrixed reporting structure.Must have strong written and oral communication skillsPossesses a strong set of personal and business values that coincide with those of the 4I's (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement)At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 75,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
