Position Summary;The Senior Network Engineer position is a senior technical role responsible for the collaborative design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure, network operations, and technology solutions in use by Core-Mark at all company locations across United States and Canada. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource, leading all support and design efforts in support of a "connected" experience for our employees. As a senior networking subject matter expert, the individual will have a deep technical understanding of critical network infrastructure in a large enterprise. The individual will coordinate all troubleshooting and/or triage efforts should the network experience any type of failure or incident. This position will also advocate for continual modernization of the network infrastructure, yielding an improved connected experience for our employees.The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to use professional oral and written communication along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills to successfully take ownership and drive technology problem or incident management. Effective and collaborative interactions with colleagues, end users, IT leaders, and business stakeholders is critical to ensure success. The candidate should be an effective change advocate, possessing the ability to understand the impacts of technology transformation. The senior engineer should also have experience mentoring junior engineers, with hopes of contributing to their technical progression.
