Position Summary;The Senior Network Engineer position is a senior technical role responsible for the collaborative design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of network infrastructure, network operations, and technology solutions in use by Core-Mark at all company locations across United States and Canada. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource, leading all support and design efforts in support of a "connected" experience for our employees. As a senior networking subject matter expert, the individual will have a deep technical understanding of critical network infrastructure in a large enterprise. The individual will coordinate all troubleshooting and/or triage efforts should the network experience any type of failure or incident. This position will also advocate for continual modernization of the network infrastructure, yielding an improved connected experience for our employees.The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to use professional oral and written communication along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills to successfully take ownership and drive technology problem or incident management. Effective and collaborative interactions with colleagues, end users, IT leaders, and business stakeholders is critical to ensure success. The candidate should be an effective change advocate, possessing the ability to understand the impacts of technology transformation. The senior engineer should also have experience mentoring junior engineers, with hopes of contributing to their technical progression. As a first responder to incidents, the Senior Network Engineer needs to demonstrate a positive, friendly, and empathetic attitude with their team members and internal employees.Position Responsibilities;Subject matter expert for network infrastructure and the connected experience for all employeesDesigns, implements and supports all enterprise network infrastructureStays abreast of available network upgrades, reducing the potential for technical debtContributes to the design and implementation of a resilient, secure and scalable networkEnsures the resiliency of all network devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, VPN, VoIP)Primary technical lead for all hosted voice infrastructure (VoIP)Identify opportunities to improve process and operational disciplinesMentor team members within various technology disciplinesTechnical leadership with fulfilling various requests, including maintenance tasks and businessSkills and Experience;7+ years of Cisco networking leadership in large, multi-site enterprise7+ years of Cisco network hardware configuration management (routers, switches, VPN/IPSec)7+ years leading all Cisco VoIP infrastructure in a large, multi-site enterprise7+ years managing enterprise deployment and support for secure Wireless7+ years of operations leadership where incident management and metrics is emphasized7+ years of TCP/IP mastery, inclusive of LAN and secure WAN design and implementationStrong analytical skills with incident and problem managementStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, including executive presentationsHighly collaborative, willing to help colleagues and business partnersConsistently demonstrates a positive attitude, which fosters an enablement cultureDesirable Skills;Cisco design and configuration management of a highly resilient and secure networkCisco Call Manager (VoIP)Cisco Wireless networkingCheckpoint VPN configuration and managementSystems resiliency and integration experience (multi-site, geo-dispersed)Application and/or product roadmap development expertiseCisco CCNA-level or equivalent proficiency certificationCollaboration platforms expertise (Skype, Teams, Slack)Core-Mark Benefits:At Core-Mark, we know your power comes from your overall well-being and the well-being of your family.
