Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)Reporting to the Shared Solutions Associate Director, the Sr. Exclusion Initiatives Analyst is part of a team responsible for the placement/removal of exclusions, expanding the existing Exclusion Governance Process and supporting the expanding of existing and implementing new concepts. The Sr. Exclusion Initiatives Analyst within Shared Solutions is responsible for exclusion analysis, research and interpretation. Primary responsibilities of this position include removing and placing exclusions, facilitating governance calls, providing analysis of exclusions and transforming data into tangible reports, communicating analysis and interpretation to appropriate audiences and providing SME level expertise to support exclusion initiatives. This individual will be responsible for supporting and leading exclusions and shared solutions initiatives. The candidate will kick-off strategic initiatives, gather and document business requirements and complete data analysis to support, compile and report key information for operations. In addition, this individual will collaborate directly with leadership and coordinate monthly reporting deliverables for the team.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Place and remove exclusions using P2, CEM and other applicable systems Maintain master exclusion list of all exclusions placed and removed Lead, facilitate, organize and participate in key exclusion initiatives and report out to key stakeholders Provide customer facing support for Optum and the client, interacting with business and other stakeholders providing SME level expertise to understand problems and needs Identify and remove roadblocks within team to maintain monthly reporting timelines Identify the business impact of system/application changes Identify capability gaps between current state and desired state Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clients Accumulate and transform data (through SQL, Tableau, V look ups, pivot tables, graphs, and formulas) into tangible reports and actionable information for the business and clients that are easy to follow Collaborate with the Business Analysis and Reporting team: To forecast business estimates and outcomes Communicate analysis and interpretation Produce, publish and distribute reports relating to exclusion performance to key stakeholders and appropriate audiences Develop process maps to visualize current and future process states Assume additional responsibilities as assigned Self-starter with the ability to work independently and adapt to a changing environment You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, related field or equivalent work experience 2+ year of experience in exclusions placement and removal 1+ year of experience in business analysis Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of health care industry Waste & Error experience Experience within Optum Payer Operations or Health Care Payer Operations Knowledge of: PICTS, P2, EnterpriseNow, KnowledgeNow, CEM Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) analysis results including trends and opportunities to clients and business partners Advanced level of proficiency working with MS Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, lists, statistical functions, etc. Innovative and independence, ability to find solutions Proven ability to work in a team virtual environment Excellent verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills Careers with Optum.
