Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for expanding and evolving the cloud based enterprise data platform. You will ensure the technology components of the platform are correctly configured and optimized to meet the functional, non-functional, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience moving and processing large volume of data across on premise and cloud environments in a secure manner. The Data Platform Engineer will support software developers, data architects, data analysts and business users to get the most value out of the platform with minimal friction. The candidate must be self-directed with ability to own and execute the platform improvement activities while collaborating with other team members and stakeholders. + Design, build, automate data pipeline, testing systems, event monitoring and notification systems, that implement key aspects of the full data pipeline lifecycle, including acquisition, transformation, management, export, and analytics + Triage problems across the data platform to help address development, test, and production issues + Assist other engineering groups with data architecture, pipeline development, automation and planning + Maintain best practices to facilitate optimized software development and continuous improvement/continuous delivery (CI/CD) + Support end of life, end of service, and vulnerability remediation activities. + Help select, configure, and optimize the use of AWS services + Understand, implement, and advance data lake and data warehouse strategy Qualifications: + Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline preferred + 8-10 years of experience in building and maintaining data platforms, ETL processes and connected sources and targets required + 8-10 years of experience in building or managing data marts and datawarehouses required + 6-8 years of hands on experience in deploying and running data pipelines on Amazon Web Services (AWS) required + 6-8 years of experience moving code and data through non-production and production environments required + 4-6 years of experience in installing, patching, updating, upgrading, and sunsetting libraries, software, and hardware required + 4-6 years of shell scripting experience preferred + 4-6 years of performance measurement and tuning experience preferred + Proficient Primary in Python and secondary in Java. + Advanced structured query language (SQL) skills + Solid understanding of Linux operating system (OS), networking, and security + Strong foundation in the following AWS Cloud Services: S3, CloudWatch, EMR (Hive), Glue and Glue catalog, Redshift Spectrum, EC2, StepFunctions + Solid understanding and experience working with BitBucket, JIRA and Confluence + Deep understanding of the security aspects resulting from fine grained entitlements requirements, multi-geo data, and role based access that must be reportable and auditable + Must have system design thinking, ability to plan and author technical documents. Require problem solving, and prioritization skills. Need ability to articulate new ideas and explain them to all level in the organization. The typical base pay range for this role is between $120k - $150k depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
