This role will play a valuable part in our efforts.How will you make an impact?This position can be 100% Remote and you will play a key role as the Sr. Business Analyst responsible for providing key business analytics and insights to the sample preparation product management and finance teams. They should be a strategic thinker and have experience with financial modeling and forecasting. In addition, this person should be able to coordinate project activities and work with a project manager for larger efforts. Astute at simplifying the complex is a necessary skill in this role. You're comfortable diving into the data, questioning results, troubleshooting, enhancing, curating and being creative with data. You're an analyst and a storyteller at heart, and you will work on various projects and communicate with different stakeholders to gain valuable business context. Your data sets will be diverse - at times complex and unstructured - but your unique viewpoints, experience, and teammates will keep you grounded and help you navigate. The data will range in systems from numerous sources (including, but not limited to, digital, offline, sales, revenue, loyalty, BI, CRM). Curiosity, critical-thinking, and persistence are key in this role.What will you do?Work closely with product management, market development, and finance teams on strategic projects in support of the sample preparation business strategy and product roadmapGenerate recurring and ad hoc reporting to assess health and performance for the business and campaignsBuild and maintain KPI dashboards spanning revenue, units sold, margin, customer type, channel and other info as requiredConsistently apply a consultative approach with internal customers and seek to understand the business strategy and key insights needed to make decisionsProblem solve, troubleshoot, and identify data gaps to better address business questionsTake the lead in developing solutions and improving business processes to maximize efficiency and minimize manual data processesEvaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the true needsEnable stakeholders through documentation of techniques, best practices, conducting training sessions, etc.Enable teammates through knowledge-sharing and collaborationWork on continual self-education to improve techniques and advance our team's analytics strategyHow will you get there?Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Business Management, Science or a related discipline5+ years' experience in roles with increasing responsibility and a min of 3 years of business analysis experienceData visualization experience to convey message simply and impactfully: PowerBI (or similar), Advanced MS Excel & PPTPreferred Qualifications:Interest in life sciences and diagnostic markets and contributing to Thermo Fisher's COVID-19 response effortsExcellent communication skills and experience turning business requirements into data solutions via reporting, analysis and storytellingStrong analytical skills with the ability to handle ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete informationPrior experience with or strong interest in learning SAP and inventory management systemsStrong presentation, negotiating and influencing skillsAbility to work in a highly matrixed environment, inclusive of conflict resolutionSuperior written and verbal communication and team-building skillsData integration experience or strong interest: PowerBI (or similar), SQL, etc.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 80,000 extraordinary minds have a unique story to tell.
