The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Solutions Engineer to join our information technology team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York or on a remote basis. As a Solution Engineer, you will create compelling digital experiences to help deliver best-in-class guest experiences. The sales engineer role will guide requirements elicitation, contribute to vetting solution options, oversee day-to-day engineering efforts, and collaborate with our testing team to ensure we're releasing high-quality, supported guest-facing products that meet all of our requirements.

+ Collaborate with the technical product owner and product architect, contribute to maintaining an integrated product line roadmap, and incorporate our partner's roadmaps to ensure alignment to stakeholder expectations.

+ Understand documented persona-based guest experience use cases, co-author requirements for new features, and partner with the architecture function to establish future state product architecture.

+ Drive overall engineering effort for food, beverage, and retail experiences, ensure solutions are meeting requirements, delivered on time and within budget, and meet technical standards as defined by enterprise architecture.

+ Work with the quality assurance team to identify opportunities to build test cases, and ensure requirements are thoroughly validated through user acceptance testing.

+ Co-create ample support documentation as products transition from our product development lifecycle to client delivery projects.

+ Document all aspects of our product lines within our product catalog, such as correlating guest experiences to standard technical solutions, managing engineering and support documentation for each product line, and maintaining references to critical partner documentation.

+ Leverage the product catalog to share knowledge, mentor, and create training opportunities to help grow subject matter expertise across the organization.


+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.

+ Experience within the hospitality or sports service industries.

+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, relationship-building, and influence skills.

+ 3 or more years of experience within solution engineer, sales engineer functions or product management, including experience with technical writing.

+ Hands-on experience with agile project management, including scrum or Kanban frameworks.

+ Deep understanding of enterprise POS architecture, including mobile and kiosk channels.

+ Experience with solutions leveraging public cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services.

+ Working knowledge of modern operating systems, database management platforms, and networking concepts.

+ Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.

+ The ability to travel as needed.
