Job Description

An entertainment organization in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer, with a Java background, for a promising Remote opportunity with their staff. In this role, the Software Engineer (Remote) - Java will be responsible for participating in the development of highly scalable services following a microservice architecture.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer (Remote) - Java will:
  • Design, develop and deliver software on progressive and growing platforms, primarily using Java and Spring
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and other code quality related initiatives
  • Actively participate in design discussions
  • Inspect and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer and/or a related field
  • Experience building scalable, high-volume services
  • Experience developing with Java and the Spring Framework
  • Experience developing containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure as well as different AWS services, such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway
  • Hands-on experience using Elasticsearch
  • Hands-on experience using Gradle
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Experience building Serverless applications with Node.js
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB
  • Experience with AWS Kinesis
  • Experience working within a Continuous Integration workflow
