Join us.General Summary:Unum is hiring for a dynamic Senior UX Designer who has both Visual and Interaction design experience. This position will collaborate with a cross functional team to understand the customer need and create software solutions that are easy to use and provide a highly engaging experience. The role requires a thorough understanding of usability design principles and best practices, along with an understanding of how visual and interaction design work together to create a world-class user experience. The Senior role leads a broader team to ensure consistency across implementations and methodologies employed.Job SpecificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant business experience6+ years of experience designing user experiences and interaction design for rich interactive web sites and/or applicationsExpert using the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically XD, and/or standard UX software such as Sketch, Axure, InVision, Figma, Framer, and the like.Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.Excellent communication and influencing skills - able to present and win approval for concepts from senior leadership.Experience gathering user requirements, conducting field studies, usability testing, and questionnaire/survey design all using variety of research methods ranging from exploratory (contextual inquiry, ethnography, interviews) to user interface/design research.Ability to work on many projects and teams in parallel.A broad range of experiences from different industries and practicesExceptional user interface and experience design skills and an understanding of user-centered design disciplines and principals, as well as an eye for subtle detailPassion for results - bringing forward new methods or tools to help advance the user experience.Clearly demonstrates analytical ability and critical thinking skillsProven experience designing for multiple devices, such as mobile and tabletExcite and inspire teams to prioritize the User in the work that they doAbility to work as part of an Agile team and influence business partners, Product Owner, development team on the need for strong UX designA solid understanding of modern web technologies and interaction patterns and experience in designing complex solutions for complete digital environments including mobile-first and responsive design.Insurance, benefits and leave administration background beneficialExperience in participating on project teams and ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and clients.Ability to resolve issues and conflicts with team membersPossess effective communication skills, both verbal and writtenOperates with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.Self-starter and detail-oriented, passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.Research and showcase knowledge in the industry's latest trends and technologies.Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.Insurance, benefits and leave administration background beneficialPrincipal Duties & ResponsibilitiesHelp define and oversee the UX process across Unum, ensuring best practices are employed across different teamsActively feed ideas and suggestions on how to improve the UX for Unum's customers to the AVP User experience, and work with that person to refine and roll out best of breed practices to all teams.Help set and police standards across different teamsDefine and reinforce adherence to Accessibility StandardsWorks both as a team member on individual UX assignments for much of the time, but will help provide cross-team support, standardization, best practices, and interconnection.Partners with business Product Owner, Marketing roles, Scrum team members, and subject matter experts to support the development of user interfaces that are implementable on the web.Incorporate quantitative data with qualitative user research.Develops user interfaces that will bring an exceptional and consistent user experience across multiple digital platforms that are consistent and reinforcing of the corporate brand.Translate concepts into user flows, user journeys, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive and excellent user experiences, optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.Facilitate the Product Owner's vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping, and user-testing experiences for digital products.Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.Actively bring in ideas from other industries and companies that would benefit Unum's client base.Responsible for pattern and style libraries and keeps them updated and maintained.Creates screenshot mockups and/or prototypes for usability testing and requirements gathering.Ensures that the user experience is applied consistently by overseeing the use of brand guidelines, color, font, icons, and other artifacts, and ensures compliance with Accessibility Standards.Provide feedback to Marketing on Brand standards, guidelines, and direction.Monitors best practices, trends and new technologies and evaluates them for possible adoption.#LI-AD1#LI-MULTI#LI-remote~IN1Our company is built on helping individuals and families, and this starts with our employees.
