Handshake is hiring a Senior Manager for Total Rewards reporting to the Sr Director of People Operations. The Sr. Manager of Total Rewards at Handshake will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global compensation and benefits programs, contributing to strategic direction and managing execution of offerings across the globe. You will be the subject matter expert regarding Handshake’s Total Rewards design and administration and will regularly collaborate with leaders, HR business partners and recruiters to attract and retain best talent.
Your role
- Lead the development and maintenance of job evaluation methodologies, salary structures, and pay ranges to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
- Contribute to the development of a global compensation strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, competitive market positioning, and internal equity considerations
- Conduct internal evaluation, analysis, external research, and benchmarking to learn/understand the company’s current status, positioning, and trends to ensure competitive practices
- Develop a multi-year benefit strategy, which considers competitive market and industry trends and cost-effective approaches
- Create innovative and engaging employee benefits programs by thinking outside the box to offer unique benefit packages to all levels of employees throughout the organization, that will best suit their needs
- Utilize data and market research to analyze trends, evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs, and provide recommendations for enhancements
- Design and administer cyclical compensation programs, open enrollment and year-end activities including change management and roll out
- Develop effective communication strategies to educate employees about total rewards programs, ensuring they understand the value and purpose of the offerings
Your experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and delivery of total rewards programs
- Expertise with compensation modeling and standard benchmarking systems
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws that impact total rewards
- An aptitude for analytics and problem solving including the ability to seek and diagnose root causes
- A natural ability to influence, inspire, and motivate others, fostering a sense of shared purpose and alignment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and coordinate efforts across functional teams to meet project objectives
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey complex compensation and benefit concepts to employees at all levels
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant field.

Compensation range
- $202,500-$215,000 + Equity
