Description

Crawford Technologies is seeking a client-facing technical Senior Project Manager to join the Professional Services Team in support of both client project and internal initiatives using waterfall methodologies. This position ensures the delivered solution meets project requirements including all operational requisites, reporting obligations, and related deliverables. The ideal candidate for this role will have solid experience balancing the ability to take charge of a project while positively managing the expectations of the client, sales and Crawford Technologies leadership. 


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Project Manager concurrently leads multiple moderately complex technical projects utilizing waterwall methodologies and is responsible for all aspects of the SDLC: planning, budget, scope definition, design, execution, delivery, including assembling the project team, assigning responsibilities, and managing schedules and resources. 

This is a customer-facing position that ensures the successful execution of Crawford Technologies products and services having key responsibilities in the following areas:

Lead multiple project teams simultaneously at various project phases

Engage with project sponsors and key stakeholders to understand strategic goals and expected outcomes

Manage expectations (sales, development team, customer and internal leadership) including scope, budget, communication, risks and timelines

Obtain client agreement with the project plan, timeline and budget and advise of any obstacles or resource needs that may affect completion of the project as planned.

Ensure project requirements are identified and documented

Engages in relevant contract management activities (ex. facilitation of project estimates, development of SOWs, contract execution)

The project manager will be the focal point of information, both to and from the customer

Manage communication channels with customers and key stakeholders. 

Keep management and key stakeholders apprised of project status and identifying issues and concerns.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of technical knowledge, both orally and in writing.

Supports ongoing process improvement initiatives as SME or as project manager


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE & EDUCATION

  • Strong project planning experience with the ability to analyze information, think critically, and make decisions
  • Ability to effectively identify appropriate tools and technics to manage, prioritize and execute project delivery

  • Extensive experience working with customers and have ability to manage expectations

  • Understand resource planning and utilization reporting

  • Identifies staff competencies and assigns resources to project tasks based on knowledge, skill, and abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to understand details but work at a higher level when appropriate

  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

  • A servant leader with strong work ethics, leads by example, and strong negotiation skills
  • Understanding of strategic / long-term goals of project
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Mentor/coaches fellow project managers and project team members as needed
  • Provide direction to assigned resources

  • Strong project management background (waterfall) with 8+ years of experience with at least the last 5 years supporting software implementations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination and/or experience in related field.
  • Must have extensive experience working with customers and have displayed an ability to manage customer expectations
  • Extensive knowledge and experience creating or managing client-facing deliverables using tools such as MS: Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies

  • Business Analyst (BA) experience
  • Software development experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following Industries or Sectors:
    • CCM (Customer Communications Management)
    • Production Print (Print Service Provider or similar 
    • Document Accessibility Services 
    • Financial or Insurance Industry
  • Vendor management experience
  • Project Management Certification(s) (Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum, etc.)
  • Experience managing projects that required system or data migration
  • Knowledge of contract management, vendor management, and procurement processes
  • Experience using MS Visio
