Senior System Analyst (Remote)

A tech services company in Virginia is currently seeking a new System Analyst for a promising Senior-level and Remote opportunity with their staff. In this role, the Senior System Analyst (Remote) will be responsible for supporting the Production Support team, triaging production issues, complex ticket assignments, ad hoc reporting and system testing changes to the applications maintained by the program.

Responsibilities:

The Senior System Analyst (Remote) will:

• Analyze information from system users and develop strategic solutions that meet the scope and objectives of the system along with addressing system needs
• Prepare highly complex flow charts, models, and procedures and conduct feasibility studies to design possible system solutions
• Perform technical assessments aimed at improving client systems
• Identify improvements to current processes and systems
• Independently perform advanced analysis and systems designs along with providing guidance to less experienced personnel
• Work with the Production Support Leads to assess the impact of issues and devise plans to see them through to resolution
• Review existing system functional capabilities to identify changes required for implementing new PLOG requests and system fixes
• Identify system enhancements and/or process improvements to reduce manual interventions and/or streamline technical, business and/or operational processes
• Create test cases, test scenarios and perform system testing for software changes being made to new and existing systems
• Prepare and update documentation for new or existing systems
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 10+ year of experience related to Computer Functional / Systems Analysis
• Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Experience writing functional / system requirements
• Experience writing test cases and performing manual test execution on batch systems and web front-end systems

Desired Skills:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in systems/functional analysis and software testing
• High proficiency in SQL creating and executing queries
• Experience with X12 and XML schemas
• Experience in various operating systems (i.e., AWS, Mainframe, Windows; UNIX)
• Experience in various programming Languages (i.e., PL/SQL, Java, XML; C, C++, PowerBuilder Application, COBOL)
• Experience with databases (i.e., DB2, MS SQL Server, MS Access)
• Experience with claim adjudication/payment, HIGLAS, MBD/ELMO and/or Medicare Secondary Payer related applications and concepts
• Knowledge of the system development lifecycle (SDLC) and understanding of waterfall and agile development methodologies
