As a Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for driving partnership strategy, opening new lines of business, and aligning internal and external stakeholders through strategic recommendations and execution. The role requires a proactive and strategic mindset, blending independent initiative with cross-functional collaboration to achieve business objectives. This individual will lead the discovery process, develop partnership agreements, and act as a key interface between internal teams and partners.
You will:
- Develop and implement strategic recommendations for when and where to partner, aiming to expand into new lines of business, for MCG and ODG by MCG.
- Collaborate with Product and other internal teams on discovery, partnership execution, and growth initiatives.
- Foster connections between current partner activities, market needs, and MCG’s growth objectives.
- Conduct robust research and follow up on leads provided by the Partner Manager, Sales, Customer Success, ODG and other sources.
- Lead discovery meetings with current and potential partners, focusing on strategic alignment and viability.
- Propose and draft partner terms, managing the agreement process through to the execution of partner legal agreements.
- Manage book of business for current ODG Partners
- Ensure all ODG partners have a current Software Developers License and status to Director of Strategic Alliances, as requested.
- Assess the technical viability of prospective partner use cases, understand the high-level requirements and address IP protection concerns.
- Align partnership goals to MCG’s strategic vision and establish clear frameworks for collaboration.
- Own process from discovery to exhibit creation for all SAP / ODG legal agreements, including negotiation
- Lead new partner integrations (if needed) and administrative follow-through as required.
- Manage partnerships with an eye towards growth and expansion based on ODG growth and customer needs, including the execution of necessary commercialization with MCG Marketing for ODG partners
- Own partner inbox for ODG Partner requests
- Represent MCG in discussions with executives, articulating goals clearly and professionally.
- Lead MCG partner business reviews and provide strategic input on market opportunities.
- Own all ODG partner communications; planning annual communications, working with Marketing to confirm the correct partner contacts are current in Salesforce and ready for Marketing to contact via Marketo.
- Capture market insights from prospective partners and provide actionable feedback to internal teams, including working closely with Product, Market Insights and the Director of Strategy.
- Act as a self-starter with a “go hunt” mindset, driving the discovery of new opportunities and building connections to expand business lines.
- Balance strategic responsibilities with administrative tasks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of +8 years' experience in developing and executing partnership strategies to open new business lines as well as partner management.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience of partnership strategy related experience
- 3+ years of overall experience with a Master's Degree, 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with different departments; sales, accounts teams, product, partner, and strategy teams.
- Proven experience in developing and executing partnership strategies to open new business lines as well as partner management.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with product, partner, and strategy teams.
- Expertise in research and documenting partnership terms.
- Familiarity with contracts, negotiations and IP protections, with the ability to assess high-level technical viability of partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting to executives and authoring detailed partnership and strategy documents.
- A self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities and foster current partnerships through long term relationship management.
- Flexibility to balance leadership, strategic insights, and administrative responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to travel annually to partners, conferences and MCG’s user group meeting (less than 20%)
Pay Range: $115,00– $160,880 annually
