Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build and improve our internal runtime tooling and developer experience on top of cutting edge technologies such as Kubernetes and Vault. Additionally, you'll be helping us build monitoring, management and alerting systems, dashboards, tracking systems and a myriad of other tools. Our goals include improving automating the operations side of software and providing a self-service runtime platform for Zendesk product engineering to leverage.What you get to do every day:Work with a hardworking, talented team of experienced engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds and varied experiences.Design, code, and maintain Kubernetes add-ons, Custom Controllers, CRDs, runtime tooling, and more, with a focus on improving product engineer experience with our Kubernetes-based platform.Build and maintain tooling that improves engineers' ability to debug, monitor, and manage their production workloads in a secure and compliant manner.Contribute to respected open source projects such as the Kubernetes vertical pod autoscaler, descheduler, metrics-server, and more.What you bring to the role:Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.Working knowledge of GoLang and/or Ruby programming language(s).Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with an agile mindset.Willingness to respond in real-time to production incidents and/or support requests.Desire to improve workflows and reduce toil through tooling and automation.Strong ownership of your work, with demonstrated ability to drive projects from inception through to completion.Attention to design, focus on extensibility and flexibility; care for best practices, high quality code, and proper test coverage.Ability to operationalize code with proper tracing, metrics, error logging, monitoring and alerts.We ship code frequently and quickly, but stability and reliability must never be compromised!#LI- MOAbout Zendesk - Champions of Customer ServiceZendesk started the customer experience revolution in 2007 by enabling any business around the world to take their customer service online.
