Senior Software Engineer, Product Security

What you’ll do:

As a Senior Engineer on the Product Security team at Brex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and reliability of our authentication (AuthN), authorization (AuthZ), and identity and access management (IAM) systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and operate secure backend systems and services that underpin Brex's products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and own security aspects related to authentication (AuthN), authorization (AuthZ), and identity and access management (IAM) within Brex's products and services.
• Take responsibility for the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and operating in production.
• Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, and processes related to AuthN, AuthZ, and IAM.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure the security and scalability of these systems.
• Mentor and give younger engineers guidance and leadership
• Leverage your experience in AuthN, AuthZ, or IAM to drive security improvements and best practices.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience and expertise in authentication (AuthN), authorization (AuthZ), or identity and access management (IAM).
• Experience building and designing scalable backend systems.
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with backend programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python).
• Familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
• Ability to hold yourself and the team to high standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and lead projects to successful completion.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this role is 308,000 - 385,00 CAD.  However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

This role is open to remote candidates based in Canada.
