Senior Recruiter - Diversity, Racial Equity, & Inclusion (DREI) - Remote or Hybrid

JOB DESCRIPTION:

NORC at the University of Chicago is looking for a highly collaborative and intellectually curious Senior Recruiter, who champions DREI and stays at the forefront of new and emerging DREI recruitment strategies and tactics. This role will be central to helping NORC to recruit and retain top talent, with an emphasis on BIPOC, LGBTQ+, veterans, disabled and neurodiverse professionals.

The Senior Recruiter, DREI is a newly created position. We want you to feel empowered to make this role your own, with opportunity to present fresh ideas for developing and implementing DREI recruitment strategies across the organization.

As a member of our Talent Acquisition team, you will partner with our new Chief Diversity Officer and her evolving team to source candidates and build relationships that advance our DREI commitment and goals.

DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES

The NORC Human Resources Department supports NORC's mission, values, and guiding principles through collaboration with research, operations, and administrative departments to recruit, develop, and retain top staff. It is the mission of the NORC Human Resource Department to provide effective human resource management by developing and implementing policies, programs, and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and attract talent with an emphasis on BIPOC, LGBTQ+ veterans, disabled, and neurodiverse candidates


• Build and drive innovative and inclusive sourcing strategies for open roles in partnership with hiring managers/teams and other recruiters


• Create and sustain relationships with key educational institutions, professional associations, diversity organizations, individuals, and community organizations to use as recruiting sources


• Execute targeted recruitments, managing the full life cycle to hire highly qualified talent to meet position requirements across the organization


• In collaboration with the Office of DREI, create a strategic framework and development process to enhance the expertise of the TA team in sourcing and recruiting diverse candidates for all open positions


• Develop and implement organizational marketing strategies and promote a strong employer brand. This includes supporting college/university job fairs and outreach activities, internships, and internal employee referral programs to promote the organization


• Ensure that recruitment activities comply with NORC policies and OFCCP requirements.


• Lead tracking and measurement of diversity outreach activities across the organization with a focus on affirmative action goals


• Collaborate with management to assess current recruiting programs, policies, strategies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements as needed


• Supporting HR team with ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience working in Talent Acquisition roles


• Demonstrated experience supporting all areas of recruitment, including DREI focused recruitment and conducting specialized searches using advanced applicant sourcing techniques.


• An understanding of OFCCP requirements relating to applicant data and staffing, and prior work with a Federal contractor


• Experience working with applicant tracking software.


• Experience with employment branding initiatives, including optimizing employer social media presence is a plus


• Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter


• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Experience working with Microsoft 365 SharePoint is a plus


• Must be organized, hands-on, detail-oriented, flexible and enthusiastic.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and perform data analysis relating to recruitment metrics is needed


• Must be focused on quality and providing excellent service to internal clients


• Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
