Designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, with a technical focus, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs as well as emerging technology developments and trends to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings. Balances deep subject matter expertise in the product, business use cases and strong technical aptitude. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. Responsible for cross-functional stakeholder management to include but not limited to design, engineering, scrum teams, business leaders, etc., functioning as product expert.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end product development under Quality Solutions product portfolio encompassing Healthcare Quality Measurement - HEDIS, Stars, State & Custom Measures and Quality Improvement programs
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders; document business requirements; identify problems that need to be solved; understand stakeholder pain points, what keeps them up at night, and any roadblocks to growth; document process flows and solution context
  • Represent Business to Engineering teams, lead backlog refinement, decompose features into user stories, write user stories with acceptance criteria following Agile best practices; participate in daily scrum calls, sprint planning, and PI planning; give demos to stakeholders as needed
  • Provide subject matter expertise, recognize and analyze gaps between current situation and desired outcome and utilize appropriate resources to obtain information, consider solutions and deliver the solution
  • Work with User Experience team to develop User Personas, wireframes/mockups
  • Ability to engage matrix partner teams (Technology, Operations, Implementation, Operational Readiness, Reporting, Quality, Legal, Regulatory, etc.) to effectively deliver on each project
  • Prioritize defects and track progress towards release of product. Work closely with Technical Product Manager, Product Strategy, Operations, Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to ensure customer problems are solved
  • Perform data analysis work, define file layouts, understand upstream/downstream impacts to the data flow
  • Conduct virtual training sessions with end users; work with Documentation team to write task-based training guides
  • Understand data privacy and government regulations

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in IT
  • 5+ years of Healthcare related business analysis, and product development experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Healthcare Quality measurement frameworks - HEDIS, Stars and/or similar
  • 1+ years of experience in Agile software development approach
  • 1+ years of experience writing User Stories, Requirements, Testing and Collaborating with Development/Engineering teams
  • 1+ years of experience with healthcare data including Claims, Code-sets, Eligibility and related domains
  • Understanding of Healthcare Quality measurement and improvement areas
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree
  • SAFE PO Certification
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner or Professional Scrum Product Owner certification
  • Ability to present ideas in a concise and clear manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Exposure to Big Data, Hive, Kafka, Microservices and UI technologies
  • Excellent communication skills

    Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
