AI Summary

Own the end-to-end partner and affiliate motion to scale user growth for the Virtual Power Plant ecosystem. This includes structuring commercial agreements, managing high-value relationships, and collaborating cross-functionally to activate growth channels.
About ev.energy

We’re building the world’s largest Virtual Power Plant (VPP). By connecting to vehicles and chargers, we turn EVs into flexible grid assets that balance supply and demand, preventing blackouts and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
We’re scaling across North America and Europe. We are moving fast, we are AI-first, and we are looking for builders who want to power the grid of the future.

The opportunity

We have grown utility managed charging programs to industry-leading adoption rates, exceeding 25% of eligible EV drivers in some markets. Getting there required building best-in-class email and direct marketing. Reaching the next tier of adoption — 30%, 40%, and beyond — requires expanding our distribution further by scaling our ecosystem of partners and marketing affiliates.

We have a growing roster of affiliates and partners already in flight. This role brings dedicated focus to systematically scaling this user growth channel. You will own the partner and affiliate motion end to end — prioritizing the right relationships, structuring them commercially, and working cross-functionally with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, and the User Growth team to activate and scale them. This is a relationship-first role for someone equally comfortable in a commercial negotiation and a performance data review, who uses AI to move faster so they can spend their time where it makes the most impact.

Experience:
6+ years in partnerships, business development, or growth marketing. You have owned a partner or affiliate portfolio end to end, from prospecting and commercial negotiation through to performance optimization, ideally in a D2C capacity or startup. Clean energy/mobility is a plus.
Key skills:
  • Demonstrated AI fluency - active use of AI tools in your work, OR formal AI education or coursework. This is a hard requirement
  • Proven track record building and scaling partner or affiliate relationships from prospecting through to revenue
  • Commercial instincts - you understand unit economics, can structure a deal that works for both sides, and know what a target LTV:CAC means in practice
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator - you have worked alongside Sales, Product, Engineering, and Data to activate partnerships, not just sign them
  • Familiarity with affiliate tracking mechanisms (UTM parameters, promo codes, attribution tooling, etc.)
Other qualities:
  • Comfortable building from low infrastructure - you have created partnership programmes from near-scratch, not just inherited mature ones
  • Relationship-first - you build genuine trust with external partners and can prioritise a focused few high-value relationships over a long tail
  • Genuine interest in clean energy, electrification, or climate a plus
AI-powered ways of working
  • Use AI to research, evaluation and reach out to potential partners and affiliates, turning days of desk research into hours
  • Draft and iterate on partner outreach, proposals, co-branded toolkits, and GTM content faster than any previous playbook allowed
  • Synthesise partner performance data into clear recommendations on verticals to invest in further and where to pull back
Partnerships & affiliate ecosystem
  • Own a portfolio of high-value, high-scale growth partners — focusing on quality and depth of program coverage and enrollments, over the volume of partners
  • Build and refine ev.energy's marketing affiliate program, from onboarding and toolkits through to performance measurement
  • Broker affiliate and partner agreements that meet our LTV:CAC targets, working with Legal and Finance on equitable commercial structures
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, and Data to scale contracted partnerships to higher volume — not just sign them, but activate them
Partner-led program growth
  • Own the partner-led go-to-market for Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Multi-Unit Dwelling (MUD) programs, working with vendors and channel partners to drive enrollment at scale
  • Management of third-party outbound activation vendors — field ambassador programs and outbound call partners — as contracted channels within the broader ecosystem
  • Own the partnership marketing motion for non-residential acquisition, such as fleet operators, commercial property managers, and other stakeholders as you broaden the ecosystem
  • Coordinate delivery of these growth motions alongside the Senior Marketing Manager, Acquisition & Operations, who executes the joint campaigns and operationalizes these processes
The salary range for this role is $126,100-$145,000 CAD.

Key benefits include:
    • Equity, in the form of share options (granted as a % of your salary)
    • Healthcare provided by Canada Life (Premium plan)
    • Life assurance of 2x your salary
    • Paid-for co-working access (on-demand or subscription)
