Job Description SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Manager- Dev Ops who will be responsible for implementing highly scalable solutions including continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, release management and support for all production and development application systems within GE's Digital Workplace Software Solutions team. The Dev Ops Manager will work alongside Software Engineers to ensure our services and products seamlessly move from development through rollout and into production for both internal, and cloud-based applications. The Manager will lead his team and communicate, evaluate, problem solve, multitask effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, challenging, and rewarding environment.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Designs software solutions to take advantage of opportunities and new technologies, acting as a partner to and a team member of the Engineering and Operations teams.Support and improve our tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management.Responsible for implementing strategies for continuous delivery of custom GE software on the cloud.Act as a technologist resource, to guide development teams through tough spots in migrations to the cloud.Supporting role on the "on-call" rotation (24/7) maintaining a distributed, high availability software environment.Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 8+ years of revlevant IT experience.Legal authorization to work in the United States is required, we will not sponsor work visa's for this position.Technical Expertise: Container orchestration systems such as KubernetesExperience architecting or managing AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructureExperience working with container technology such as Docker and/or Vagrant.Experience with configuration management and automated deployment (Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc)Solid understanding of operating systems, especially Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat).Strong understanding of Apache, tomcat, jboss, nginx, light httpdAdvanced knowledge of network operating systems, distributed systems targeting the JVMBuild tools like Maven and GradleStrong scripting skills (bash, Python, SQL, PERL, etc.)Experience with configuration of HashiCorp Vault & TerraformExperience with design, development and testing of automated deployment scripts. (Jenkins etc.)Experience with monitoring tools (NewRelic, Nagios, etc)Experience with managing databases & their infrastructure (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc)Operational Knowledge of NoSQL software like Cassandra, MongoDB, CouchDB, Hadoop, memcache, Active MQ, ElasticSearchExperience working with version control systems (Subversion, SVN, git, github, etc)Experience with cloud platform (VMware, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, etc) production deploymentsREST APIs, JSON, and SOAP XMLLeadership:The DevOps Manager will take ownership of tasks and mentor all team membersEnsures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale.
