Job Description

Job Description: Senior Professional Application Developer "Senior Mainframe Developer" Summary Monitors and maintains moderately complex application development projects according to appropriate specifications. Essential Job Functions + Reviews Codes, tests done, documents and implements programs according to the specifications provided. + Provide legacy code development, testing and integration activities. + Provides moderately complex to complex technical and production support to end-users. + Participates in and conducts peer reviews as needed. + Participates in creating unit and other test plans for assigned programming tasks. + Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. + Reviews and analyses writing program specifications. + Reviews design of programs of routine complexity and for basic enhancements to existing programs. + Recommends changes to client software based on information such as client feedback, language changes and new technology. Basic Qualifications + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience + Six or more years of programming or application development experience + Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software + Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software + Experience working with writing specifications + COBOL / SAS / JCL + IMS DC/DB + DB2 / SQL + Preferred experience in Finance applications + Application analysis - willing to dig deep, understand and interpret complex application processes + Application Design experience + Technical writing skills - ability to translate requirements/design/analytic outcomes into comprehensive program specifications + Ability to provide off hours production support for critical applications which may involve evenings, weekends, and holidays.
