Are you a skilled Lighting Artist seeking to play a pivotal role in crafting immersive and visually captivating interactive experiences? At Magnopus, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Lighting Artist to join our team and contribute to redefining the boundaries of interactive storytelling through the power of light and shadow.


  • Work with art leads and the art director to create compelling lighting for a variety of environments while maintaining a consistent style throughout the production process
  • Ability to creatively tell a story through lighting, direct the eye and create the mood 
  • Work closely with the art, technical art, and design departments to conceptualise and implement real-time lighting solutions that satisfy both aesthetic and gameplay objectives
  • Ensure that lighting assets meet budget requirements
  • Anticipate different production constraints with various lighting techniques, and understand the budgeting restrictions associated with them
  • Create, maintain, and communicate documentation for lighting guidelines and implementation techniques
  • Create, maintain and tweak shaders to allow for look development to support quality lighting

  • In-game lighting experience using Unreal, Unity, or a comparable development software
  • Deep understanding of real-time lighting techniques 
  • Experience working with a PBR and HDR production pipeline
  • Experience with use of shaders, materials and lighting for look development based on internal and external concept art and art direction
  • Experience creating and working with colour grades, post effects, colour LUTs, and tone mapping
