We are looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer for Civica's Central Government Professional Services Team. Providing technical specialism in On Premises, Public, Hybrid and Private Cloud within the Infrastructure and Cloud team of the Central Government Business Unit.  Fulfil senior engineering responsibility for many managed service customers with a hands-on responsibility.

Leading on the design, planning and execution of the implementation on a range of infrastructure and cloud focussed projects on both Civica’s and customers private, hybrid and public cloud infrastructure. 

Promoting the Vision & Strategy of the Civica Group including principles of the business unit.  Pushing innovation and developing leading edge solutions that deliver the business needs of the Civica Group and its Customers.

Lead project delivery activities:

  • Oversee discovery, design, and implementation of projects in Civica’s infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Serve as senior infrastructure engineer, providing hands-on support.
  • Ensure customer infrastructure meets service level agreements and resolve issues.
  • Conduct design reviews and improve processes for cost-efficient delivery.
  • Produce High and Low-Level Designs, offering technical leadership and hands-on implementation.
  • Enhance solutions through Service Improvement reviews.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for cloud infrastructure.
  • Support Pre-Sales with accurate technical input for cost-effective solutions.
  • Travel UK-wide for solution design and commissioning.
  • Develop secure, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers.
  • Plan and lead knowledge transfer and training.
  • Be available for out-of-hours work and on-call rotations.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Head of Infrastructure and Cloud.

Essential Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of on-premises, private, hybrid, and public cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with large infrastructure transformation projects.
  • Expertise in technical architecture design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, SQL Server, VMware, Hyper-V, and Active Directory.
  • Skill in designing service management and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and self-starting.
  • Ability to manage and lead technical teams.
  • In-depth understanding of Networking, Security, Storage, and Identity Management.
  • Consulting skills for hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Knowledge of enterprise and cloud security.
  • Ability to deploy solutions using infrastructure as code.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance.
