What you'll do...a day in the life!

The Senior HR Business Partner role supports managers and employees throughout multiple locations in the United States on employee relations needs and in driving HR related business objectives. Assists managers, supervisors and employees with employee relation matters. Provides exceptional customer service to employees. (NOTE: Mortgage industry strongly preferred, & extensive HR/Employee Relations experience required.)

In this role you will:

* Acts as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting initial intake calls with employees and managers.
* Provides guidance to leadership around employee relations issues, including addressing low employee performance and corrective action. Develops a plan for each case. Demonstrates a thorough and complete exploration and analysis of facts and details before a recommendation is provided or guidance is offered.
* Consults with and advises managers regarding workplace issues and recommends appropriate actions in accordance with Company policies and guidelines, and applicable laws. Fosters an environment that appropriately assess the risk associated with certain actions and promotes fairness.
* Assists team members with workforce issues by listening empathetically to concerns, managing expectations, and handling the case in a sensitive manner. Keeps team member regularly informed of the status of the case, informing the team member of obligations to ensure a timely and accurate handling of the case in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
* Facilitates consistent interpretation, application, and execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures by serving as an available, reliable, and trustworthy resource
* Follows established guidelines to gather details on employee relations matters; demonstrates attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and consistent and fair judgment while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity; communicates with those that have a need to know
* Remains current and informed in the field of Employee Relations in order to share knowledge and insights with others. Maintains up to date knowledge of federal, state and local EEO and labor laws.
* Maintains employee personnel files, including but not limited to record keeping and filing of documents
* Collaborates effectively with others in order to execute tasks and fulfill key deliverables within the HR centers of excellence (COEs).
* Proactively works with managers, legal, compliance, and employees using established processes and best practices to resolve issues before they escalate
* Participates in HR related projects, as assigned
* Delivers service excellence by utilizing business acumen and HR knowledge to provide solutions to managers and employees
* Partners with leadership to advise on talent management and compensation strategies.
* Partners with leadership to advise on the development and planning for department success plans.

Those with the following experience and skillsets:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Solid knowledge and understanding of customer service best practices
* Solid knowledge of HR processes and procedures, industry trends, standards and best practices, and employment laws and regulations
* Solid knowledge and understanding of current business acumen
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* 7+ years of experience in a Human Resources generalist and/or business partner role
* 3+ years of Employee Relations experience
* Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment
* Demonstrated advanced experience with MS Office software products with an emphasis in Excel.
* Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to tight deadlines
* Demonstrated experience in researching techniques, problem solving, and making solid business decisions
* Demonstrated experience reporting, analyzing, interpreting, and critical thinking
* Demonstrated experience producing accurate and detailed work on multiple projects under time pressure
* Demonstrated experience communicating with all levels of management
* Demonstrated experience leading by example to foster relationships within the company and department
