Overview

 

The Sr. Research Informatics Applications Analyst supports the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and Research Informatics. The Sr. Applications Analyst serves as the technical Research Informatics subject matter expert for the Research applications and manages projects and programs in assigned research areas.  The Sr. Analyst performs system configurations and provides technical support for assigned research or other priority applications and mentors others. The Sr. Analyst is a liaison to the research operations and research teams and develops, implements, and effectively uses research clinical technologies. They collaborate to positively impact patient safety and care quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.
  • Serves as technical subject matter expert for department and organizational committees and initiatives; plans, coordinates, and develops technologies to support research processes.
  • Responds to system issues and user requests for assistance.

  • Initiate /Lead Incident Management processes to resolve issues/services as soon as possible.

  • Collaborates to provide training and communication about changes and fulfill optimization requests

  • Configure and optimize applications and technology to meet the specific requirements of clinical research or research workflows.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology to ensure that clinical research and operational systems meet security requirements.
  • Maintains application documentation, back-up procedures, and business continuance.
  • Test systems and technology to identify defects and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Works with leadership to develop application and technology strategies.
  • Provide leadership and participate in analyzing, learning and testing new features and system upgrades.
  • Manages projects and provides expertise to implement new clinical research/research applications and technologies.
  • Mentors others analysts in their development and skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree     Preferred  and  5-7 years’ experience Clinical experience, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience.  

    Associate's Degree and 7 or more years’ experience Clinical experience, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience.

  • Project Management experience.

  • At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership.
  • Research Clinical Certification preferred

  • Research Billing Certification preferred

  • Courier Badge preferred

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $37.71/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work from home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area or request advanced approval to work outside of the area and may attend onsite meetings, as scheduled.
