As the Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform, you will lead our globally distributed Cloud Platform Team and own and execute the technology roadmap. We are seeking a software engineering leader experienced in building high quality cloud systems. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and tactical direction for all stages of cloud platform delivery. You will coordinate with Department Directors, Product Managers, Mobile, Firmware and QA teams to enable on time delivery of products to market. You will serve as thought leader, technology expert and a mentor to other technical team members. Additionally, you will:Lead development of system and software architectures to support functional requirements and business needs as well as product reliability, flexibility, and qualityOwnership and implementation of the overall systems development life cycle.Articulate high-level technical strategies and product vision; encourage and facilitate technical discussions, and promote cross-functional projectsEnsure team's understanding of business goals, priorities, and how they align with customer needs and business direction Provide hands on technical team leadership to ensure software development principles are understood and best practices are followed Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements and design documents as well as code reviews.Responsible for strengthening the technical competence and capabilities of the department by bringing new technology and capabilities into the organization, becoming a recognized leader for key competences within the global IoT organization.Be an advocate of software quality and ensure the team understands the importance of proper testing, automation, and software design Working closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical designsDevelop and implement hiring plans to align with business goals and priorities Grow the team by sourcing, hiring, and onboarding top talented and passionate engineersLead performance coaching and career development for new and existing engineersWork with cross functional leaders to manage existing and new product development along with handling current production issuesSet high standards for teamwork, collaboration and execution based on trust and demonstrate ability to manage cross-cultural teamsEffectively estimate and track project schedules, costs, and resourcesExecution against project plans and timely delivery of committed resultsManagement of day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environmentReport on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.WHAT WE SEEK10+ years of experience in software development 5+ years of people management and leadership experienceStrong experience in developing cloud-based backend softwareProven experience in management of multiple concurrent projects.Strong experience in Cloud Computing with one or more Platform-as-a-Service, (PaaS), offerings with IoT capabilities (AWS IoT preferred or Google Cloud IoT).Proven experience with establishing Software development lifecycle (SDLC) systems including CI/CD, version control, package management, build & deployment tools and unit/integration test frameworks.Strong knowledge on DevOps mechanism for on-prem or any other cloud services.Experience providing senior level technical guidance. Possess strong people management skills.Exceptional customer focus including understanding the impact of technical decisions on customer experience, recommend alternate technical and business approached and leading projects to meet aggressive timelines.1+ years in IoT in manufacturing domain Knowledge of leveraging Data Science for predictive analytics of IoT devices is a big plusProject Management experience EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Computer Science, Information Systems.
