Job Description

The Senior Engineer Project Engineering collaborates on the Power & Controls, Engine Control Systems (ECS) engineering efforts for the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbo-Fan Advantage Program (GTFA).

The Senior Engineer Project Engineering has opportunity to work with Collins engineering functions and coordinate with Value Stream Leadership and Pratt & Whitney to deliver mature and FAA certified products in support of GTFA Engine Certification and Entry into Service.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical execution of engineering activities for programs within the Value Stream.

Represent Engineering in the Large Commercial Engines GTFA Value Stream

Provide leadership and guidance to Project Engineering

Manage overall program certification milestones though tracking and providing execution communication

Coordinate overall program technical communications and risks

Ensure technical scope changes are coordinated with the Value Stream Leaders

Communicate effectively to Value Stream team, Senior Management and Pratt & Whitney

Drive FAA Certification efforts on control system Bill of Material Components.

Coordinate activities to deliver products with mature reliability at GTFA Entry into Service through reliability testing and tracking.

Improve product reliability through relentless root cause investigation and corrective action for learnings identified during GTFA Engine testing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience or

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Project Engineering or Program Management

  • Experience in design, development, and certification of control system hardware

  • Experience in Requirements Management

  • Experience in Systems Engineering

Ability to organize complex data to drive business priorities
