Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to the overall OptumCare payer contracting strategy development and execution with a focus on assessment, negotiations, contract management, and evaluation.
• Develop, document and disseminate Care Delivery Organization (CDO) contract resources and tools including end-to-end process, contracting templates, contract language, best practices
• Lead contract review engagements, complete thorough reviews of existing contracts and provide detailed reporting outlining opportunities for improvement.
• Lead due diligence contracting evaluation for new CDO markets.
• Build collaborative relationships with local care delivery markets and enterprise partners to enhance CDO contracting experience and financial value
• Enhance and expand OptumCare's medical contracting capabilities including the establishment of best in class performance standards to generate additional business opportunities.
• Collaborate with national leadership to establish and execute contracting initiatives and objectives, identifying and prioritizing areas of focus.
• Responsible for the coordination and completion of select strategic projects across various functional areas
• Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques.
• Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance and direction through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree
• 5+ years of experience in medical contracting with providers and payers, with a solid understanding of the contracting process and prior negotiation of medical contracts.
• 4+ years of experience managing complex, multi-functional business projects and initiatives
• 3+ years of experience building and leading teams in a matrixed environment
• Solid verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills and local care delivery/payer relationship management experience at an executive level
• Highly developed collaboration and relationship-building skills to foster effective working relationships across OptumCare and UHG
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, financial analysis, , critical thinking, organizational agility and time management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $110,200 to $211,700.
