LifePoint Health- Health Support Center


The Senior Developer, Integration is responsible for providing advanced programming and development, tier 2 technical support, and maintenance of existing or planned interfaces with a focus on efficiency, standards, and cost effectiveness to include but not limited to database support, maintenance, implementation, vendor coordination, and interface monitoring to ensure availability of hospital data and information systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Design integration interfaces using industry standard protocols such as HL7 and FHIR, in collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Create and / or leverage existing standard data definitions to model vendor data to successfully integrate with hospital facilities.
  • Create advanced programming and test custom code to filter and manage data as needed and for integration interfaces in the interface engine environment.

  • Seek out integration related problems and proactively implement resolutions with the goal of preventing breakdowns in current integration workflows.

  • Develop new understandings of potential changes in workflows, tools, and processes to support developments in both technology and regulation changes.

  • Provide training and support on interface engine and related development tools for new developers and end users at the facilities and within the Health Support Center (HSC).

  • Manage and support implemented interfaces and required Rhapsody Linux/Windows integration environments.

  • Provide second tier customer support for existing interfaces and daily, 24X7 on call support of as needed of 6000+ interfaces serving Lifepoint Health facilities.

  • Assist with maintenance of the interface engine servers to include but not limited to engine software patches and updates.

  • Identify and gather interface solution requirements through meeting with various business owners/stakeholders, facility staff and vendors.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the interface engine and assist with troubleshooting issues, solving complex problems using code, etc.

  • Train, guide, and support Integration Analysts in their daily duties which align with the implementation, support and documentation of integration solutions.

  • Manage, track and document the development and completion of all interfaces in internal project tracker identifying project milestones, issues and resource needs etc.

  • Collaborate as needed with Integration team management to identify needed staff and or resources to complete the project.

  • Obtain capital budget information or ad-hoc budget approval for project tracking and documentation.

  • Plan the implementation of developed interfaces, collaborating with business owners/stakeholders, vendors and Integration team management as needed.

  • Lead meetings to discuss technical and business requirements, set timelines, and identify needed technical and staff resources.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Exhibit an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software/Database Design preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 years related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications: General Development Certifications preferred.

Licenses: N/A

Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
