About the Role: Transfix is on an exciting growth path, and we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to further build out our data warehouse. You'll be part of a small team responsible for building data pipelines, ETLs, and developing purpose-specific data marts providing access to consistent and reliable data. You'll leverage your expertise in data modeling, data engineering, and software development to develop resilient workflows and automated solutions. You'll provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members and drive architectural decisions for our data platform. If you have strong technical capabilities in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing, as well as a proven track record of delivering critical projects and partnering with technical and business stakeholders, and are passionate about providing value for your customers, this may be the ideal role for you. Please, keep reading! Note: While this role may be fully remote, we are prioritizing candidates who are based in Eastern and Central time zones to maximize synchronous team engagement. What You'll Do in This Role: Build Data Marts using Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow that support internal reporting and analytics (Looker), enable effective data science modeling, and drive data feeds for our customers. Decrease the time it takes to build and deliver a new Data Mart by guiding the Data Warehouse team, helping them focus on what's important and eliminating what isn't. Provide technical leadership and mentorship while fostering a team culture of collaboration, autonomy, and excellence. Partner with our Data Platform, Advanced Analytics, and Data Science teams to continue growing a data-driven culture across Transfix. Continuously evaluate and improve team performance through a combination of hands-on coaching, identifying process improvements, and finding opportunities for automation. You're an Excellent Fit for This Role If: You have 4+ years experience building out data warehouses and pipelines in a Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Warehouse Engineering, ETL, or Data Architect position. You are a SQL expert - you're able to look at a SQL job and understand what it takes to optimize before even looking at the query plan! You have expertise in utilizing DBT (data build tool) to transform data loaded into the data warehouse. You have experience with key components of our Data Warehouse and reporting stack (including Snowflake, Airflow, FiveTran, and Looker) or hands-on experience with similar tools. You have experience working in agile environments, and these environments are where you thrive. You are adept at scoping and determining Level of Effort (LOE) estimations for a range of projects, and understand how to best determine and take action on a range of priorities in a fast paced, high growth environment. You're well versed in best practices related to data pipelines and data modeling. You possess excellent communication skills; you understand how to pivot and partner with various business stakeholders with a range of priorities and perspectives. We are offering a market competitive salary depending on experience level, scope, and geographic location, which includes base salary as well as Restricted Stock Units (equity) in Transfix.
