Leads a team of direct reports to do the following: development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, competitor analysis and price-to win- analysis. Monitors the development of business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured marketing plans and pursuit/influence plans. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, identifies customer needs and influences company solutions to meet customer needs. Oversees the execution of competitive new business positioning. Interacts with engineering leadership and program management leadership in the execution of competitive new business. Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build a team that daily exhibits excellence in business development functional skills in order to grow the business.
  • Bringing meaningful, thoroughly vetted and researched opportunities, from identification all the way through to award, for consideration by an integrated product team.
  • Be the voice of the customer in all situations.
  • Ensure the team is committed and focused at all times on the customer and their CONOPS; the competition and their behavior; and what it takes to win.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Ability to obtain an active US DoD Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship Required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current US DoD Clearance.
  • MBA or related graduate degree.
  • Strong Business Development skillset in opportunity evaluation and decision gate reviews, pursuit planning, contact/influence plan development, competitive analysis, Price-to-Win and use of SalesForce CRM tool is highly desired. Experience leading teams pursuing large, complex multi-phase pursuits in highly competitive environments.
  • Understanding of customer organizations including the following: US Army PEO C3T, US Army PM TR, US Army Futures Command, US Army Network CFT, US Army PEO GCV.
  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition and budget process
  • Experience with the tactical communications market including V/UHF, SATCOM, and HF capabilities across ground and air segments.
