Job Description

SUMMARY This newly created role will be an engineering leader for integrations (ETL data pipelines) - in particular, providing technical leadership for combining internal and external data sources for the Capital Markets, FP&A, Asset Management, and Data Science teams. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining a performant and scalable data pipeline infrastructure. The Senior Data Engineer will form the architectural basis upon which our platform evolves and will be responsible for reviewing new products on the market both within our current platform and beyond. It will be responsible for listening to the operational demands of each department and providing solutions that increase our effectiveness and efficiency. This role will require strong project management and communication skills, strong technical competence, as well as a demonstrated knowledge of enterprise-wide software implementations and administration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop modern integrations (ETL pipelines) that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability. Build and maintain large software platforms using Express.Js, AWS, and MuleSoft Perform end to end testing and verifying results in target system to ensure integration worked as expected. Design and develop solutions able to process large volumes of data. Collaborate with others to test and resolve issues with deliverables Drive department best practices, guidelines implementation and adhering to standards Manage integrations including scheduling, notifications, security, and status tracking Ability to perform Data Analysis and Data Quality tests and create audits for the ETLs. Lead and participate in code reviews, peer inspections and technical design/specifications Perform Continuous Integration and deployment using AWS and GitLab OTHER DUTIES Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of this employee for this job. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent 6+ years of Data Engineering experience. 5+ years of experience building modern REST APIs. 2+ of years of hands-on experience developing on an iPaaS system (MuleSoft preferred). 2+ years of recent hands-on experience with AWS - Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, EC2, and other services. Advanced expertise using Node.js and Python - Node.Js is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of relational databases and fluency with SQL. Test Driven Development and CI/CD experience. Familiarity with Yardi or other real estate ERP systems as well as common SaaS platforms such as Salesforce is a plus. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
