Job Description

EDUCATIONAL, CERTIFICATE and LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in a quantitative field (e.g. finance, statistics, economics, etc) or a non-quantitative field with 1-3 years of relevant analytics experience required.

EXPERIENCE, SKILL and ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years of experience in merchandising analytics, category management, retail consulting, or related field.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sr Analyst, Strategic Vendor Management (COE) will stand up and own strategic vendor management analytics processes, tools, and capabilities. They will support category managers by creating in depth pro forma views of margin and cost of goods and performing assortment analyses. They will establish new ways of working for strategic vendor management, and will be responsible for managing cross-functional strategic category review projects.

- Execute Strategic COGS and Funding Initiatives utilizing merchandising analytics, contract review and understanding Category strategies. Support Category Management teams as they conduct annual CPG negotiations projects.
- Work in cross-functional teams to extract, clean, and prepare spend and margin data for analysis. Identify key insights from analyses, cutting through large amounts of data to quickly identify trends and implications on merchandising and vendor strategy & approach.
- Leverage a suite of analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel and Tableau, and others to conduct analysis on vendor performance data (sales, margin, spend and funding) to identify sales growth, margin improvement and cost reduction opportunities (e.g. vendor P&L analysis, space productivity analysis, promotional effectiveness analysis, assortment incrementality analysis).
- Translate insights into action, reporting on findings to senior management through effective storytelling and utilizing analyses to prepare for critical merchandizing decisions (e.g. assortment changes, CPG vendor negotiations etc.).
- Create and maintain performance dashboards to provide insights on vendor performance.
- Assist in analyzing offers from vendors and developing negotiation strategy based on internal and external sources of information.
